What does a little boy turning 3 want for his birthday dinner besides a dinosaur birthday cake? Chocolate milk and sausage. Later he thought that scrambled eggs and waffles would be good too. This is so cute because every time we go to Grandpa Bob's and Grandma Marsha's, we have this for breakfast.
Nate celebrated his birthday on March 4. We had a fun day. He started the day in a new dinosaur shirt...which he loves! And also started saying, "I am 3. 3 year olds don't suck their thumbs." If only it were that easy.

Robbie took a long lunch and we all went to lunch together. He chose going to Wendy's. On the way over, he was hot. He kept saying, "I'm sveaty." I guess that he felt hot. It was funny.

The cousins that are close by couldn't make it to the party, so one aunt, Heather, brought up Nate's little cousin and met us at Wendy's. Robbie went back to work, so Heather and I had 5 BOYS to control there and the oldest was 4. YIKES! She then took Nate to Wal-Mart to choose a toy. Her little boy Easton ended up staying the night at our house. It was so fun and a tiny bit rowdy.
After late naps, we had our dinner. Robbie's parents came and my dad and Marsha made the trip over. Nate was so glad to see them. None of the other cousins could come that night, so I asked Nate if he had a friend that he wanted to come over. He said yes...Kerrie...my good friend who has 2 darling boys. They are older than mine, but my kids love them. It was funny that he chose her and not the boys. We had a fun party.

Now that Nate is 3, he has a new found sense of being big. He keeps telling Carson, "When I turn 4, I am going to be bigger than you." Carson's response is always, "No sir." When you are 4, I am going to be 5." It is a frustrating and never ending argument. He is still a sensitive boy. He does NOT like to be in trouble. 30 seconds in time out is like 30 spanks to him. And if he did something really bad and does get a spank...I better plan for 20 minutes of consoling afterward. He is so loving. At lunch I asked him who his best friend was. He quickly said, "Carson and Logan." It is true. They all love each other so much. He is getting so curious and asking all kinds of questions about what animals eat. He knows all the names and facts about dinosaurs. He at age 3 knows WAY more than his mother about this. He is learning his letters and sounds.
His most exciting thing that has happened since Nathan turned 3 is that he is now big enough for a booster seat. He has wanted out of that baby car seat for a very long time. Yesterday we told him that we were going to get him one. He was so excited that he couldn't eat his dinner. We headed to the store and got it. Of course we took out his old car seat and installed his booster. He wanted to sit in the very back seat next to Carson. On the way home he said, "Mom, Carson isn't talking to me." So then I told Carson to talk to his brother. Nate then said, "I love sitting in the back and talking to you." Carson said, "I love that too." Melted me.
I hope that he always stays so sweet. This number 2 son of mine is exactly what Heavenly Father knew I needed...especially after my determined number 1. Nate is my constant even tempered one. I love him for that. He has more of a disposition like his dad. If he keeps like this, he is going to have a very happy life.
